Unreal Engine 5 Installation
Unreal Engine 5 uses Epic Games Launcher, developed by the top 10 mobile game development companies. Click on the Download button in the top-right corner of the Unreal Engine website.
You have the option to choose from either the Publishing or Creator licenses. If you intend to publish your projects or make them monetizable, choose the Publishing option. To download the Epic Games launcher, click here.
Once you have installed the launcher, it is time to open it. After installing the launcher, log in to Epic using your Epic account.
The same login method was used to download the launcher. Sign in and click Install Engine on the top-right. If you do not have Unreal Engine installed, the launcher will not open.
To open an existing version:
- Click
the Library tab.
- Click
the Engine Versions + button to download a new Unreal Engine version.
- Choose the UnrealEngine 5.0.0 release to begin the installation.
Do a project
After the Engine is installed, you can return to Epic Games Launcher (developed by mobile games development companies). Click on the Unreal Engine tab.
Click the Launch UE5 button to open the Project Browser. This may take some time, particularly for the initial run.
Click on the Games button to open the project browser.
Select one of the following templates. The
Blank template is your best choice if you're starting from scratch. Use
Blueprint as your default setting for Project Defaults and not C++.
These are the next options:
- Target
Platform: By selecting Mobile or Tablet, you can disable certain
post-processing effects. This will allow you to use the mouse as touch
input. This setting should be set to Desktop.
- Scalable:
This will disable certain post-processing effects. This setting should be
Maximum.
- Starter
Content: This option contains some Starter content. To create a clean
project, uncheck the Starter Content.
- Raytracing: This allows for subtle real-time lighting. This option is not recommended.
Last, please specify where you want to store
your project folder.
The project name does not represent the title of the game developed by mobile games development companies. Type Submarine into the field of the Project Name text.
Click Create to begin your UE5 adventure!
Navigating the Interface
After you've created your Project, the editor
will open. You may have used UE4 before, and you will see that the editor view
has been simplified to allow you to concentrate on the game view.
The editor is divided into multiple panels.
- Viewport:
Unreal Engine 5 places your level as the main focus. Other panels are
smaller. You can look around by clicking right and then moving your mouse.
Use the WASD keys to
move.
- Modes:
You can choose between the Landscape Tool developed by t game development company or
the Foliage Tool from this panel. The default tool is the Place Tool. You
can place all types of objects on your level, even lights.
- World
Outliner: Shows all objects at the current level. You can organize your
list by placing related items in folders. Additionally, you can search for

- Details:

edit the settings by using the panel. Any changes made to an object will
only affect that particular instance. If you have two spheres, and you
change the size of one, it will only affect that object.
- Toolbar:
This toolbar contains several functions. Play is the one you will use
most.
- Content
Drawer: This panel shows all of your project files. This panel allows you
to organize and create folders. Search for files using the search bar and
filters. Expand to view all assets within your Project.
Importing assets
To explore Unreal Engine, you'll need a vessel. So grab a submarine! The materials download contains a model of a low poly submarine. Inside the zip file, you'll find a 3D model (fbx) submarine-low-poly/submarine. Fx and textures submarine-low-poly/*.png for the model.
You must first import any files before Unreal can use them. Navigate to Content Drawer, right-click the Content folder, and create a new folder called Models.
Click the Import button. Use the file browser to locate the folder containing your submarine materials, Submarine*.png and Submarine. fbx. Select the FBX file and place it in your Models folder.
Unreal will offer you import options for the .fbx file. To uniformly scale the submarine model, change the Import Uniform Scale to 100.
Set Material Import Method to Not Create Material, and uncheck Import textures. You will be creating the material and importing the textures separately.
Next, click on the Import All button. All models in the FBX file developed by the game development company will be added to your Content Browser folder. These models are known as static meshes in Unreal.
You can't import files into your Project
unless you specifically do so. Save files by right-clicking on the File and
selecting Save. Or save all files at once using File> Save All. Save often!
Make a Materials folder in your Content Drawer and import the five PNG texture files. After importing the textures, save them again.
Next, you will assemble the model parts and texture pieces to construct the complete Submarine.
Make Your First Actor
An actor is an object placed on a level. It can be a Camera, static mesh, or starting point for the level.
Blueprint is a special type of Actor that can combine mesh components to make one object. This can be used in games developed by Game development companies.
Blueprints can do more than just join 3D models. They also integrate complex logic with models to create a part that can be reused and added to the game.
A Blueprint is a basic definition of a "thing." You can create custom behaviour for your objects with Blueprints. You can have a physical object (like a submarine) or an abstract object like a health system.
Do you want to build a moving vehicle? Create
a Blueprint. How about a flying porcine? Use Blueprints. Blueprints can help
you create a kitten that explodes upon impact. Blueprints.
Start by creating a folder called "Blueprints" in the Contents Drawer.
Next, right-click on your Blueprints folder to choose to create Blueprint Classes. Name this Submarine and make an Actor.
Double-click the Blueprint Actor to launch the editor. Now it's time for you to build your submarine model developed through Game development companies.
